Prompts: Lean Into the Fog
It’s been hard to write lately. Nothing serious this time. Not like that time I couldn’t write for almost twenty years. Today I decided it was time to do what I do when words are hard to find. I look for prompts. Then find seventeen syllables to describe what I see or what I’m feeling. It doesn’t have to be good. Just come up with some words. Count the syllables. Break the lines.
Not too long ago, this past autumn, the view in this photo pulled me out of a slump.
Head into the fog
as geese fly and foxes trot
just trust what you know.
Spring is on its way so I took time to walk around outside. this morning. I stood where I stood to take that picture on a foggy fall day. And the fog in my brain cleared. Then I walked back to the house and sat at my desk with a whole new perspective.
