I’m Nancie and I wrote this book…

…and now I write this blog. Here I share my thoughts about topics that hide behind the links in the left sidebar.

My book, Tea with Dad, Finding Myself in My Father’s Life (Green Place Books) comes out June 1, 2021. Check your local independent bookstore. You can also preorder it at Bookshop.org, Indiebound.org, Amazon.com, or Barnesandnoble.com. These links will take you right to the information about the book on those sites.

I’m glad you dropped by. Get to know me. Let me get to know you. I hope this visit won’t be your last.

Prompts: Don't Give Up on February

Prompts: Don't Give Up on February

I know that the first day of spring does not occur until the vernal equinox, which happens on either March 19, 20, or 21 each year, but today’s rain reminded me of a Haiku I wrote on another February day four years ago. That week Mother Nature seemed to have tossed her testy toddler, February, out to let spring in early, but back it came.

February, back
for one more day, just in time
to give March a wave.

After what seemed to be the early arrival of spring this past week the rain, wind, and cold returned. I thought of the happy robins I’d seen hopping across the lawn these past few days and wrote something else.
